POS & Data Migration

Can I keep my existing POS data?

Yes. We offer free data migration from Square, Toast, and other platforms. MKR engineers will import your SKUs, product catalog, and sales history into Clover before your launch date — so you hit the ground running without re-entering data.

Why not buy Clover directly?

MKR provides localized onboarding, inventory integration, and a single point of contact for your entire tech stack. Direct Clover sellers only handle the POS — MKR also handles your network, phones, cabling, and Internet, saving you time and money across multiple vendors.

Pricing & Costs

Is Clover more expensive than Square or Toast?

Clover software pricing varies by plan and business type — we confirm the right plan during your statement audit and onboarding review. The real difference is in processing: MKR's IC + 0.10% + $0.10/txn rate (when eligible and approved) beats Square's 2.6% + $0.10 and Toast's 2.49–3.50% + $0.15 on high-volume months. There are also no hidden software upgrade fees. Plus MKR's managed services often replace multiple vendors you're already paying for separately.

Eligibility, underwriting, and signed agreement required. Get a free statement audit to see your actual savings.

Do I have to switch my Internet or phone service to MKR?

No — you choose. MKR offers AT&T Business Fiber with preferred pricing, but you can keep your existing provider. Our engineers will configure the POS and network around your current setup. For VoIP, 3CX can integrate with most SIP trunk carriers, so you're not locked into a specific phone carrier either.

Hardware & Buying Guides

How much does Clover POS hardware cost?

Clover Station Duo is $1,599, Station Solo $1,250, Clover Mini (Gen 3) $725. Clover Flex 4 is $599 and Flex 4 Pocket (no receipt printer) is $395. A Clover Kiosk Bundle is $3,224 (Kiosk $2,199 + Mini $725 + delivery $300). Hardware prices are device-only — a delivery fee applies, and MKR installs and configures every setup free.

See full hardware options and pricing on the Clover POS hardware page.

Which Clover model should I choose — Station Duo, Solo, or Mini?

Station Duo is the full dual-screen all-in-one for full-service counters; Station Solo is a single-screen station; Clover Mini is a compact countertop POS for tight spaces or as a secondary terminal. Most cafés and QSRs start with two Station Duos for failover during a rush.

Is a Clover Kiosk worth it for my restaurant?

For high walk-in volume, a Clover Kiosk can reduce the need for a dedicated cashier during peak periods, and self-ordering kiosks typically lift average order value 10–30%. Documented MKR cases show savings around $1,050/week. ROI depends on your traffic and layout.

Can I avoid DoorDash and Uber Eats commissions?

Yes. Clover supports commission-free direct online ordering embedded in your own website, so repeat customers can order from you instead of through apps charging 15–30% per order. MKR sets up Clover Online Ordering as part of a connected POS + website system.

Support & Deployment

What does support look like after I launch?

Clover includes 24/7 phone and chat support for POS software issues. MKR adds a local SLA-backed layer on top — our service technicians can be on-site within 1–4 hours for network or hardware issues. You get the best of both: Clover's national support team and MKR's local hands-on response.

How quickly can we launch?

A typical single-location setup is completed in 1–2 weeks: network cabling and configuration in under a week, followed by POS hardware installation and staff training. For multi-location chains, MKR runs parallel deployments to compress the timeline significantly.

Still Not Sure?

"I'm happy with my current system."

Great — we respect that! Our free statement audit compares your existing processing costs to the MKR + Clover package in plain numbers. Even if you decide to stay, we'll surface any hidden fees or rate creep you could negotiate away. The audit is completely free and there's no obligation to switch.

Statement Audit

What happens after I upload my statement?

The MKR team reviews your statement within 24 hours. You receive a plain-English summary: your effective rate, any fees that look high or unclear, and a direct assessment of whether Clover + MKR would lower your cost. No sales pressure — just numbers. If there's a fit, we explain next steps. If there isn't, we tell you that too.

Do I have to switch to Clover after the audit?

No. The audit is informational. You keep the report whether you switch or not. If the numbers show Clover saves you money and the hardware fits your operation, we'll explain how onboarding works. If not, we'll say so directly. There's no obligation at any stage.

Is IC + 0.10% + $0.10/txn guaranteed for everyone?

No. The IC + 0.10% + $0.10/txn rate applies when eligible and approved through underwriting. Eligibility depends on your business type, volume, risk profile, and other underwriting criteria — not all merchants qualify. The statement audit helps determine whether you're a strong candidate. Final rates are confirmed during proposal review, not before.

What if my current processor is already cheaper?

We'll tell you. If your effective rate is already competitive, the audit will confirm that — and we'll note what, if anything, looks worth negotiating with your current processor. The goal isn't to sell Clover to everyone. It's to give you an honest number. Some merchants stay with their current setup after the audit. That's a valid outcome.

Internet, Network & Phone

Can MKR help if my Wi-Fi is the real problem — not the POS?

Yes — and this is one of the most common situations we see. A Clover system that drops payments or loses connection is often a Wi-Fi or internet problem, not a POS problem. MKR handles the full stack: UniFi-managed Wi-Fi, fiber or business internet with failover, and network segmentation. We can diagnose and fix the infrastructure without touching the POS software.

What is AT&T Internet Air and when does it apply?

AT&T Internet Air is a 5G-based business internet product that works where fiber isn't yet available — and as a failover when fiber goes down. It's useful for locations in areas where AT&T fiber hasn't reached yet, or as a backup connection that keeps your POS and card payments running during primary line outages. We check your address for fiber availability first; Internet Air comes into the conversation when fiber isn't there yet.

What happens to my Clover POS if the internet goes down?

Without a backup connection, an internet outage means you cannot process cards. MKR designs an AT&T Fiber primary with automatic 5G failover, so the POS and payment terminals stay online — the network switches over in seconds when the primary line drops.

More: Stop losing payments during internet outages.

How do I keep my POS network PCI-compliant?

MKR builds PCI-aware UniFi networks: the POS runs on its own isolated VLAN, guest Wi-Fi is rate-limited and separated, and Intrusion Prevention (Suricata-based Threat Management on a UDM Pro) blocks attacks. MKR configures the network to be PCI-aware; your QSA certifies formal compliance.

Guide: How to build a PCI-ready UniFi network.

Website & Online Presence

Is the free 3-page website really free?

It can be. A professional 3-page website + hosting may be included at no additional monthly cost for qualified Clover projects contracted through MKR. "Qualified" means the project meets certain scope criteria — typically a Clover POS + merchant services agreement. Eligibility and scope are confirmed during the onboarding review. It is not automatically included for every account, and it is not a promotional gimmick — we build a real business site with SEO setup, not a landing page.

Who owns the website, domain, and content?

You do. The domain, content, and website belong to your business. MKR provides the build and hosting as part of the qualified package. If you ever leave, you keep the site — we don't hold your digital presence hostage. Domain ownership is in your name from day one. Specific terms are confirmed in your service agreement.

Cancellation, Ownership & Data Migration

What happens to my data if I leave?

Your Clover data — sales history, customer records, inventory — is stored in Clover's cloud and accessible to you regardless of your MKR relationship. If you move to a different reseller or go direct, your data stays in your Clover account. MKR provides data export assistance at the end of a service relationship. Website and domain ownership remain with you.

What businesses are not a good fit for MKR + Clover?

Businesses that need deep restaurant-software integrations that only Toast provides (e.g., advanced table management or specific kitchen workflow tools that are Toast-exclusive) may find Toast a better fit on the software side. Very low-volume businesses processing under $5,000/month may not see enough savings from IC+ pricing to justify a hardware change. Businesses outside our service area (Southern California, Las Vegas, Phoenix) may find our on-site support harder to access. We'll tell you this during the audit if it applies.

What happens if Clover turns out not to be the best fit after the audit?

We say so. The audit report will explain whether Clover makes sense based on your volume, business type, and current pricing. If Toast or Square is a better hardware fit for your workflow, we'll note that. MKR's value isn't just Clover — it's the full stack (internet, network, phone, website). Some clients work with us on infrastructure even when they stay on another POS. The audit gives you honest information, not a sales script.
