MKR Systems brings a mobile photo booth to your San Diego restaurant or retail shop — iPhone, DSLR, UniFi AI Camera, GoPro, softbox lighting — and builds your website from the photos we shoot on-site. Free consultation. 888-382-5164.
A website built on stock photos tells every visitor: "This is not actually what we look like." Your real space, your real food, your real team — that's what converts visitors into customers.
The Problem With Most Restaurant Websites
The MKR Mobile Photo Booth
Our mobile photo booth is not a camera bag and a ring light. It is a complete, purpose-built portable photography studio that deploys in under 30 minutes at any San Diego location — restaurant, retail shop, office, or outdoor patio. Each piece of equipment has a specific role in producing web-ready photography that cannot be replicated with a smartphone selfie or a generic shot.
Primary camera for menu items, counter shots, and social media verticals. ProRAW captures maximum detail for post-processing. ProRes 4K video for Reels, TikTok, and website hero sections. The 5× optical zoom captures detail on dishes from a natural distance — no distortion, no hovering over the food.
Primary camera for hero images, team portraits, and interior atmosphere shots. Full-frame sensor captures the bokeh depth and low-light performance that makes a website look professional. Tethered to laptop for real-time review — we confirm every hero shot before moving on.
Wide-angle coverage for full interior layout shots, overhead dining room angles, and continuous ambient video loops for website backgrounds. The AI-powered exposure adjustment handles the challenging mixed lighting of restaurant environments — neon signs, natural windows, pendant lights — automatically. Also used for the exterior entrance walkthrough video clip that goes on every restaurant website.
Dynamic shots that no tripod camera can capture: kitchen workflow timelapse, bar setup from above, counter rush during a busy lunch hour, outdoor patio atmosphere in TimeWarp mode. GoPro footage becomes the "energy" layer of a website — the short looping clips that show a restaurant is alive and busy, not static.
The single most important piece of equipment for food photography. Softbox lighting eliminates harsh shadows and specular reflections that make food look unappetizing under restaurant ceiling lights. CRI 96+ means colors render true — the golden-brown of a tortilla, the red of a sauce, the green of garnish — exactly as they look in person. Battery-powered for complete portability — no power outlet required at the table.
Every image is written to dual SD cards simultaneously during capture — no single point of failure. At the end of each shoot session, images sync automatically to MKR's Nextcloud private cloud. Raw files are stored for 12 months. Edited web assets are delivered via a shared Nextcloud folder — you own every image, permanently. No stock license, no expiration, no third-party platform dependency.
All raw files and edited web assets are stored on MKR Systems' self-hosted Nextcloud instance running on our San Diego private cloud infrastructure. You receive a shared folder with permanent access — download your files any time, forever. No subscription, no platform lock-in, no watermarks. The images we shoot for your website belong to you completely.
The Shot List & Mood Board
Two weeks before the shoot, MKR Systems delivers a mood board and shot list for your approval. The mood board establishes the visual tone — lighting style, color temperature, composition references. The shot list itemizes every scene, angle, and deliverable so there are no surprises on shoot day and nothing is missed. Below is the standard shot list for a San Diego restaurant.
UniFi AI Camera · iPhone · GoPro
Sony DSLR · UniFi · GoPro Timelapse
iPhone ProRAW · Softbox · Lightbox
Sony DSLR · Softbox portrait setup
The Full Project Timeline
Every MKR Systems website project follows a structured timeline with clearly defined deliverables at each stage — for both our team and yours. The timeline below represents a standard restaurant or retail website build. Complex projects (ecommerce, multilingual, Clover POS integration) may extend by 1–2 weeks.
MKR visits your location. We walk through the space, identify photogenic angles, assess lighting conditions, and discuss your goals, target customer, and competitors.
We produce a visual mood board: 15–20 reference images establishing lighting style, color temperature, composition approach, and overall website tone for your approval.
You provide: current menu PDF, team names and titles, hours, address, and any brand assets (logo, colors). We handle everything else.
Final shot list with every scene itemized. Shoot day scheduled. Food prep requirements communicated (which dishes to have ready and when).
RAW files processed. Web-optimized JPEGs and WebP exports at multiple resolutions. Hero images, food shots, and team portraits delivered to Nextcloud shared folder.
Homepage hero, About, Menu (or Products), Contact, and Gallery pages built on Rails 8 with real photography. Mobile-first responsive design. Page speed optimized.
LocalBusiness JSON-LD schema, Google Business Profile sync, Clover Online Ordering embed (if applicable), Google Maps embed, OpenGraph images for social sharing.
You review the staging site. Request copy changes, menu updates, photo swaps. One full revision round included.
30-minute Zoom walkthrough of the complete staging site. Every page reviewed together. Change requests logged.
All requested changes implemented. Mobile, tablet, and desktop tested across Chrome, Safari, and Firefox. Page speed scores verified (Core Web Vitals target: LCP <2.5s).
Client signs off on the staged version. Launch date confirmed. Domain transfer or DNS update instructions sent if needed.
Domain pointed to production server. SSL certificate provisioned and verified. Redirect rules configured (www → non-www, HTTP → HTTPS).
Site submitted to Google Search Console. Sitemap.xml submitted. Google Analytics 4 configured. Google Business Profile updated with new website URL.
30-minute walkthrough: how to update your menu, add photos, and post blog content. Admin credentials and documentation delivered via Nextcloud.
Your site runs on MKR's Proxmox infrastructure in San Diego. Uptime Kuma monitoring. Daily backups to Nextcloud. Zero downtime updates.
As your menu changes seasonally, MKR returns for a mini shoot session — updating food photos and keeping your website current. Included in maintenance plan or available as add-on.
MKR produces monthly blog posts (as with cloverpos.io's 20-post content plan) — driving organic search traffic to your restaurant from San Diego local searches.

Frequently Asked Questions
No. MKR Systems schedules the shoot before your opening time — typically 8:00 AM to 1:00 PM. Exterior and empty interior shots happen before service. Food photography uses freshly prepared dishes from your kitchen during prep time. Action and team shots happen during the early part of service. Most restaurants are fully operational and serving customers by the time we pack up.
A standard shoot produces 200–400 RAW captures. MKR delivers 60–100 edited, web-optimized final images — covering all four shot list categories (exterior, interior, food, team). All 200–400 RAW files are also archived in your Nextcloud folder. You own everything, permanently.
The standard timeline is 5 weeks from first consultation to live website. Week 1: planning and shoot scheduling. Week 2: on-site photo shoot. Weeks 2–3: design and development. Week 4: review and revisions. Week 5: launch and handoff. Complex builds with Clover POS integration, online ordering, or multilingual support may extend by 1–2 weeks.
The UniFi G5 Pro AI Camera is our wide-angle and video workhorse. Its 4K wide-angle lens captures full interior layouts and overhead dining room shots that no DSLR on a tripod can achieve in a tight space. It shoots the exterior entrance walkthrough video — a 15-second clip that appears on restaurant websites so first-time visitors know exactly what to look for when they arrive. Its AI-managed exposure handles mixed restaurant lighting automatically.
Yes — and that is the ideal combination. MKR Systems integrates Clover Online Ordering directly into your website, commission-free. Menu updates made in Clover sync to your website automatically. We also integrate your Google Business Profile, local schema markup, and reservation system. The website and the POS become one connected system, not two separate things.
We will walk through your space, shoot a few test photos on the spot,
and show you exactly what your website could look like.
No slide decks. No pitch. Just your actual space and real photography.
